About Edith and Phil Leonian
Edith and Phillip Leonian were well known and active in the commercial photography world of NYC from the 1960s through 1980s. They were single-minded in their devotion both to photography and to each other.
Man in Motion
We are pleased to announce the 2026 publication of Man in Motion: The Life and Work of Phillip Leonian.
With contributions by Kristen Gresh, Marvin Heiferman, Howard Greenberg, Anne Wilkes Tucker and Judith Lane, Man in Motion places Phillip Leonian solidly within the history of motion photography, alongside the photographic explorers Muybridge, Edgerton and Marey.
